About the Venue

The AAMAS-06 conference will be held in Future University-Hakodate. The theme of the unique university building is 'openness', which is a concept that is carried through into the university's education. The building has won the Architectural Institute of Japan's award and many other architectural awards. Furthermore, the night view of Hakodate from the university is splendid. There is also a nature reserve next to the university, which is ideal for relaxing walks.

The university has a variety of lecture halls and classrooms. There is a 280 seat lecture hall, and a slightly smaller 160 seat lecture room. There are also five medium sized lecture rooms, as well as six small lecture rooms and other meeting spaces. There are also three computer rooms and a large open space area, and various other meeting areas all with wonderful views of Hakodate city. These open spaces are ideal for formal presentations and less formal discussions and meetings.

Transport to Future University-Hakodate

The Future University campus is located in the north of Hakodate city. There are regular buses (Hakodate Bus) from Hakodate airport to JR Hakodate station (20 minutes), from JR Hakodate station to the campus (45 minutes), and from Goryokaku to the campus (25 minutes). Moreover, for your convenience there will be a shuttle bus service, which will travel between the airport, the station, the Goryokaku area, and the main hotels in the center of the city, and the university.
